In 1974, we dug a pond below a field farmed for hay a century ago by Hammer Olsen and his draft horses. The area above the pond was originally planted with Gewürztraminer in 1974, but the Anderson Valley climate started to warm up, so in 2016 we re-planted to Pinot Noir.

We've had great success with ENTAV clones 777, 667 and 115 and recently added a new clone, ENTAV 828 to the lineup. The 2023 bottling is impressive and looks promising for the future. Because the 2023 vintage came from younger vines, we kept the Deep End addition to a modest 5% to gauge aging potential.
Double Gold Medal winner. Best of Class. 98 points.
