Petite harvest, grand flavor Recent Press

The weather in 2025 was nearly perfect for our Anderson Valley Pinot Noir! We experienced only one sizzling day over 100°F and just four additional warm days topping 90°F. With a modest crop in hand, our harvest wrapped up in just 35 days—although we did take an extra three weeks to patiently wait for our Cluster Select Late Harvest Riesling to develop that charming noble rot. Our Hammer Olsen field has a reputation for producing some of our finest rosé and consists of four distinct blocks, each showcasing different clones and rootstocks. The largest sections were planted back in 1991 with selections from two iconic California vineyards known for their excellent Pinot Noir production: Chalone and Martini.

Buy it by the case for only $246.00 — a savings of $78.00! That's only $20.50 per bottle.

When the winery crew arrives in the morning, bins of night-harvested Pinot Noir are lined up. Ulises is forklifting bins of the fruit to be destemmed while the grapes are still cold. Twenty-eight bins were used in the production of this rosé. [below]

Then in 1992, we added two more blocks featuring the renowned UCD clone 4, affectionately known as the "Pommard" clone, alongside the esteemed French clone ENTAV115. After a careful series of tastings, we crafted a cuvée that's a harmonious blend of half Chalone and half Martini, with a touch of 7% Pennyroyal Pinot to infuse a juicy raspberry note that beautifully complements Hammer Olsen's signature cherry-strawberry character. Cheers to a wonderful vintage! Gold Medal winner. 91 Points.
