Brought to you by The Village at Squaw Valley and Uncorked the 31st Annual Alpen Wine Fest includes an all-inclusive wine tasting from over forty (40) exceptional wineries, live music, and huge silent auction. All proceeds benefit Can Do MS, a non-profit foundation that delivers health and wellness education programs to help families living with MS thrive. With a donation for your wine tasting ticket, attendees receive a commemorative wine glass, the all-inclusive tasting, live music and entry into the Silent Auction. The event is open to all ages, however, you must be 21 years or older and present a valid ID to participate in the Wine Tasting. Day-of tickets will be on sale at 1:00 PM in the Village. "A Fair for the Whole Family." Featured will be carnival rides, great food, rodeos, livestock competitions, wine tasting, apple tasting, apple and harvest displays, arts and crafts, and free entertainment.
Special events include the Apple Bowl Football Game on Friday, CCPRA Rodeo on Saturday night and Sunday, a Saturday night dance, Sheep Dog Trial finals, an old time parade and an antique/custom car show on Sunday.
Fair hours are 9:00 a.m. to midnight daily.

The Great Day in Elk celebration, an annual event for community members, families and visitors to Elk, began in 1974 as a community-sponsored fundraiser for the Greenwood Community Center. Great Day in Elk has become a highlight on the Mendocino Coast with a parade, an afternoon carnival and food, and a dinner and dance in the evening.

The glorious wine celebration continues on into the Auction Tents for the always-entertaining main attraction, the Live and Silent Auctions, which is the where much needed funds are raised to benefit the Mendocino Coast District Hospital.
